Synthetic Felt

Yes, our minimum order is £75 for materials only.

A linear metre is a one-dimensional measurement, meaning it is a length of 1 metre.

A squared metre is a two -dimensional measurement, meaning it is an area of 1m2.

We sell felt in rolls of different widths ranging from 1.4m wide to 2m wide. So, in practice, this is why we sell by the square metre.

You can purchase in linear metres – in which case, we will just convert this to square metres based on the width size of the specific roll of material.

For example, 12 linear metres of a 1.8m wide roll would be 21.6 metres squared (= 12 m long x 1.8 m wide)

We always quote per m2 as the roll widths vary so linear metre gets very complicated

We use InXpress as our main courier service as they provide a reliable next day service for £16.50 for packed goods no more than 1.4m long. For orders where the packaged goods are larger than 1.4m but less than 25kg, we use Fedex, at a cost of £30.

When  larger quantities of material are ordered, we palletise & ship in bulk.  This can cost from £50 – £100 per pallet dependent on where you are in the UK.

Smaller sized orders can be sent via Royal Mail on request, but we cannot guarantee a next day service.

We can ship overseas but we would need to apply for a price before sending the goods.

Orders for cut lengths or full rolls can be shipped on a two day turnaround.  For cut parts, our lead time is generally 2-3 weeks.  Where we can, we will improve the lead times when a customer is in need.

The wool felts we sell are industrial felts and made from natural wool. The colours can therefore vary  slightly  from batch to batch as our manufacturing partner uses wool from sheep from all over the world at different times of the year

Yes we can- Tell us what you need and how many and give us a drawing if it is a complicated part. We can then quote you quickly so you can check against your budget. We will also tell you if we need a tool to be made for you- to allow the parts to be pressed out. . We will quote you for this – the tool is then yours- it is a one off charge against your first order only. Most tools are under £50

We do have felts that are 100% wool and so will fully biodegrade- but most of our felts have a small synthetic percentage as they are designed for industrial customers who need a hard wearing product.

No chemicals are used in production of most of the felts

Our felts come in a cream colour or black and these reflect the natural colour of sheeps wool.  The grey can vary batch by batch slightly due the natural nature of the felt.

Our site is ISO 9001 approved.  Our manufacturing partners made our felts to BS 4060 the British standard for industrial felts.

We are in the beautiful Rossendale Valley in Lancashire.

Primarily our wool felt is from Europe as sadly there is no manufacturer in the UK as far as we are aware. We do however manufacture other items onsite here such as Yurt felt insulation, Horticultural media such as Growfelt and capillary matting, carpet underlays, as well as automotive and sound instulation.
